Inbody Body Composition scan

WHAT IS IT?

An InBody scan is a body composition test which measures your extracellular fluid, body fat, and muscle mass throughout your body. It is simple, non-invasive, and takes only 60 seconds to complete.

What does the test involve?

We simply measure your height and weight on the machine, you stand on it for 60 seconds, and it accurately measures your body composition. It’s very simple and non-invasive and is completed fully clothed.

how does it work?

It is an objective method to track your body composition. Using weight or BMI alone is ineffective as it’s difficult to tell whether your changes in weight are due to water retention, a change in fat mass, or a change in skeletal muscle mass. An InBody scan quickly measures all of these using bioelectrical impedance, which involves the machine measuring a tiny electrical current (which you cannot feel) moving through your body. Based on how long it takes, it knows whether it’s passing fat, muscle, or water. Please do not complete this test if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker.

Why do I need it?

You can use this information to:

  • Track your body fat % and muscle mass over time;

  • Theoretically determine your resting metabolic rate (however we recommend our Resting Metabolic Rate test to more accurately determine this);

  • Theoretically determine your muscle glycogen storage, which is a crucial metric in creating a race-day nutrition plan.

WHAT YOU GET:

An immediate print out with your results the same as the picture below and a data interpretation booklet.
